Crown Roast Cake
We made this crown roast cake for the opening of Marlow & Daughters yesterday. It’s 3 layers of red velvet cake (made with lard instead of shortening) iced with buttercream between the layers, and Cream Cheese frosting on top.
Go over there (95 broadway) and get some great meat. They also are stocking a nice selection of cheese, oil, vinegar, and bulk spices to come.
The space looks great, and you can peek in the walk-in to see what’s curing, or watch Tom or Brent breaking down the whole animals that the meat comes from. You can also request cheeses from Mercedes, or get great recipe ideas from Caroline.
Where else in the hood can you find Beef Heart, Tongue, or pigs tails?
